The Salad Matrix
-
Salad & Sunshine is an institution; I do it daily. But salad five days a week can get old really fast. The solution? Make variety easy. For me that means buying local (i.e. no lugging groceries to/from), using raw vegetables (i.

My in-house lunch maker is on a trip this week and thus MIA for lunch duty. Left to my own devices, I suspected that I wouldn't be jumping out of bed in the morning ready to make my usual salad.

My First Channa Masala

The fragrant smell of cloves and bay leaves wafting through the kitchen reminded me of home. Growing up, channa masala (we just call it channa), was a special occasion dish - a treat of sorts.

The latest cookbook that I've taken for a spin from the Santa Monica public library is Gwyneth Paltrow's My Father's Daughter. Leave it to Gwyneth to add a little glam to what are otherwise simple, healthy recipes.
